COME, JESUS COME

O Come, O come Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear

Come, Jesus come
Bring some light into our world
Open our eyes
Show us what we’re hoping for
We will wait for you

O come, Thou Dayspring – come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death’s dark shadows put to flight

Come, Jesus come
Bring us hope in desperate times
Keep us at peace
Through the mysteries of life
We will wait for you

O Come, Desire of Nations
Bind all people in one heart and mind
Bid envy, strife and quarrels cease
Fill all the world with heaven’s peace

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel

FELLOWSHIP

You meet me where I am
And take me by the hand
You lead me in Your truth
Back to You
When holiness touches human
I’ll never be the same
I’m so glad You came

You meet us where we are
Creator of the stars
Comes down to human hearts
And touches us
Immanuel – God is with us
Calling us by name
We’re so glad You came

Come meet us once again
Remind us of Your plan
To make with us Your home
Forevermore
When all the earth bows before You
And every pain is gone
When you come

So come back soon
What a friend we have in Jesus
What a friend who came to meet us right where we are
What a friend we have in Jesus
What a friend who never leaves us
We’re so glad You came

WHAT CHILD IS THIS

What child is this, who laid to rest
On Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet
While shepherds watch are keeping
This, this is Christ the king
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing
Haste, haste to bring him praise
The babe, the son of Mary

Why lies he in such mean estate
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christian, fear for sinners here
The silent Word is speaking
Nails, nails shall pierce him through
The cross he bore for me, for you
Hail, hail the Word made flesh
The babe, the son of Mary

So bring him incense, gold and myrrh
Come peasant, king, to own him
The king of kings salvation brings
Let loving hearts enthrone him
Raise, raise a song on high
The virgin sings a lullaby
Joy, joy for Christ is born
The babe, the son of Mary

Words by William Chatterton Dix 1865

NOT THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME

When my pockets are lighter than ever
And heavy is my heart
When all the world seems to be merry
And I am not
It hasn’t snowed, no mistletoe
How can it be Christmas without going home?
I’ll sing this little song to show

It may not be the most wonderful time
But I’m gonna be just fine
Coming up roses or going down in flames
Life will go on, will go on

So when my pockets are lighter than ever
And my poor little heart’s so heavy
When all the world is merry
And for whatever reason I just can’t be
It hasn’t snowed, no mistletoe
No ticket on earth can get me back home
I’ll sing this little song and know I’m not alone

It may not be the most wonderful time
But I’m gonna be just fine
Coming up roses or going down in flames
Life will go on, will go on
There’s so much more life has in store
Than what could be under a tree
This day may not go wonderfully
But that’s alright with me

So when the baking is hard as a rock
And you can’t find your other sock (it’s a tough day)
Just two more days and still there is just no time
No time to shop
You’re down with the flu – other things too
We’ve all got those end-of-the-year report blues
That’s when we need someone to remind us that these words are true

It may not be the most wonderful time
But my friends, we’re gonna be fine
Coming up roses or going down in flames
Life will go on – we will go on
Life will go on, will go on
There’s so much more life has in store
Than what could be under a tree
This day may not go wonderfully
But that’s alright
That’s alright
It may not be the most wonderful time
But hang on, we’re gonna be fine
